MUSCAT: Social media sellers in Oman who showcase products and receive customer orders through online platforms have been urged to obtain an e-commerce licence and complete the required business verification procedures.

The guidance applies to sellers offering a wide range of products, including clothing, abayas, toys, cosmetics and other items through social media.

After obtaining the necessary licence, sellers are encouraged to verify their online businesses through the Ma’roof Oman platform at maroof.om.

Verification allows sellers to display their business information, improve credibility and build greater trust among customers.

The awareness campaign stresses the importance of proper licensing and verification to support a more transparent and reliable online shopping environment in Oman.
